The 52-Week Money Challenge

Saving money is a hard habit to develop. You might receive your paycheck one day, and have it all spent within the following days. It’s tough, I know! My parents and I, though, have each started a money-saving plan.

The 52-Week Money Challenge is a great way to save some extra spending money. We found the idea on Pinterest and have already gotten some of our friends to start the challenge.

Every week, we put a certain amount of money in our jars, corresponding with which week we are in. For example, during week one, we each put $1 in our jars, week two $2, and so on. Then we cross that amount off of the challenge card, so we know which weeks we have completed. This goes on for 52 weeks (one year). By the time you get to week 52, you will have a whopping $1,378 saved!

You don’t necessarily have to go in order of the weeks, either. If you want to knock out some of the higher deposits, go right ahead! Just be sure to cross it off so you stay on track.

All you need is a jar/container to put your money in each week and a challenge card with the weeks listed on it. It’s so simple!

I’ve decided that my money saved from the 52 weeks will be used on a trip of some sort. It’s exciting to know that money is saving up for a future adventure!

I wish you the best of luck, if you decide to start the challenge. Have fun with it, and get your family or friends involved, too!
